I put up a temp. layout over at layout_elitists. Hope it looks okay....

And we need new accepted/rejected/banner stamps. If you are feeling bored, it would be super duper appreciated. You can base it off the current layout or go with whatever design you want. We just need 'em.

And that concludes this spam post. :)

As mentioned by sharpies a few posts down, maybe it would be great to have a contest again. A layout contest to design a new layout for the community. Although I'm not sure what the prize would be for that.

And think of the comm. as a paid account, once we get the details sorted out of how to get the entries, I'll buy the comm. a 2 month paid account. So that's one detail out of the way.

Also, should it be an anonymous type of voting? We could get the stylesheets and upload them to our own styles(of course deleting them after the contest), and post a link from our own customviews (to prevent other members from knowing whos is whos). They could leave the link in a screened anon. post here on le_Mods.

Of course, I'm just brainstorming, so any ideas tell everyone else about it. Also, I don't want to head this contest up(and I don't want to force anyone to do it either). So, you could divide the responsibilty among yourselves or one of you could head it up. Or you could not do it, hehe, I'm fine with that. It's more of an idea at this point. :D

Fooktard LJ. [26 Feb 2004|08:53pm]

I'm not sure why, but for some reason when I go to leave a comment on the application entry to tell the user that their results are up, LJ refuses to let me comment. It's been happening for a while now. Usually I have to post the comment at least thirty times before it shows up.

So, if someone would be so kind as to leave a comment for the applicant after I post their results, I would appreciate it. I know it seems like clean-up work, but I'm getting really tired of having to post every comment 30+ times.

Hiatus End [17 Feb 2004|02:49pm]
[ mood | thoughtful ]

Ee~ Offering many apologies for my unannounced hiatus status that's drawing to an end. As explained to Uki-san throw_rocks, a few things have been going on that have been out of my control; but now, one hopes, I'll be a more active mod to the community. ^^; Many, many hopes.

Also thought to express an idea that I think dozuka may have mentioned in on of his previous posts [T__T sorry dear, my memory is really bad].

Though it wouldn't be an immediate change, what if we had the members of LE make a layout for the community itself? I've considered a way of doing it, being as the last contest itself could have been a bit biased for other members - we all know how popularity contests may go [not to say Hitomi didn't deserve the win! By all means, it was a great layout!! Err, I hope I'm not stepping on any toes..]

But anywho, each entry could be sent to a mod via either attachment or link to the images. Then one of the mods could create a poll with links to a server of their own [such as webpost] so the only way other members would know indefinitely would be if the creator themselves told them such and such was their graphic.

Am I making sense? I hope I haven't confused anyone.. More apologies if I have.

hey again ^^; [16 Feb 2004|03:53pm]

Not trying to spam people's friend's pages, but I thought this should be mentioned.

When someone posts in the community that they are applying, we should just comment on their post saying that their name has been added to the list for the upcoming poll, and tell them an estimate of how soon it should be.
This is what I commented with (it doesn't take long!):
fyi: your name has been added to the list for the upcoming poll, which will be around in either two more days or one more new applicant. :D
That was when two people had applied and the latest had just applied two days ago.

This is only a suggestion I guess, but it would be nice to let people know that they've been added to the polling list. ^^;;;

Oh yeah! ::does a little dance:: [16 Feb 2004|03:21pm]

Yay! I just set up the second poll! Three people had applied, thus I brought it to life.

And because it took, like, FOREVER to figure out and make the crazy poll, I discovered an easier way then the mods making all-new polls each time.

Here is the code! :DDD All you have to do is put the user's name where it is _clearly_ marked. No need to change anything else whatsoever. This should make it easy for any of us to post the polls. :DD

EDIT-TTTTTO!!!!!: Due to my own uber stupidity, I posted an actual poll, and that doesn't help, so I'm just going to email all of the mods the code, and you guys can save it somewhere for future use.

So, yeah, check your inboxes. ehehe _-_;;;

Preferences [03 Feb 2004|09:25pm]
[ mood | curious ]

Question for the mods of the community; though it's public knowledge that members and mods alike are not suppose to vote according to their personal preferences of likes, dislikes, etc - what are yours?

Elaboration: When you're looking at a layout, say, of a random user that you just happened to stumble across, what is it that catches your attention? Be it the user of subject in the graphic [Ex: Orlando Bloom, Final Fantasy, etc] or the simple format..

Just curious, really. <3

hey everyone [22 Jan 2004|12:38pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

hi! :D

Well, the semester (mid terms) ended for me today, so I had a bit of time. I went on a spiffy-up spree and attacked layout_elitists. lol. Mostly I attacked the sidebar. It was a bit disheveled looking, so I hope I made it a bit better.

I did make quite a few changes, and I really don't want to come shooting in here, making changes and stepping on people's toes. o_o;;;; So, if anyone has any problems with what I've done, I saved the exact coding of the layout before I edited it. So it can be returned as it was, if anyone wants. ._.;; *fear*

So, umm, what does anyone think of the changes to the layout?

(I updated the userinfo a little too; Marie didn't even have her own user name changed on it. :P)
